Master Gunnery Sgt. Michael A. Scott, the oldest Marine present, receives a slice of birthday cake during the Marine Corps birthday pageant and cake-cutting ceremony at the Camp Foster parade field Nov. 9. Scott then passed the piece of cake to the youngest Marine present, symbolizing the passing on of heritage and tradition within the Marine Corps. Scott is the provost sergeant of the Provost Marshal's Office, Marine Corps Base Camp Butler, Marine Corps Installations Pacific.
