The Provost Marshal Office (PMO) provides security and law enforcement, criminal investigations, confinement and correctional facilities, Japanese/Joint Police Liaison, Japanese Security Guards, vehicle registration, accident investigation and traffic court, air station security, special reaction team capability, military working dog support, customs and black marketing enforcement, animal control, vehicle impound and related services to Marine Corps Base Butler, Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, and tenant commands on Marine Corps facilities throughout Okinawa.

Marine Corps Installations Pacific Brig serves as the regional Level I Military Confinement Facility for both male and female prisoners for up to one year of post-trial confinement. The Marine Corps Installations Pacific Brig ensures the safety, security, good order, and discipline of all prisoners. The goal of confinement is to retain and restore the maximum number of prisoners to honorable service and to prepare prisoners for transition to civilian life as productive citizens.
