Food Service Officer
Lieutenant Colonel Arlie L. Miller

Lieutenant Colonel Miller is a native of Dalton, Georgia. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in July 1997. He was enlisted up to the rank of Staff Sergeant and graduated from the Warrant Officer Basic Course May 2008. He was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in July 2022. He graduated from Excelsior College with a Bachelor’s Degree in liberal Arts.

Following graduation from Recruit and Marine Combat Training, he reported to 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division at Okinawa, Japan where he served as Food Service Specialists from 1998 to 1999.

From 1999 to 2001, he served as Chief Cook and Color Sergeant with 1st Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment at MCRD Parris Island, SC.

From 2001 to 2005, he served as Field Mess NCOIC, Maintenance Chief, and Headquarters Platoon Sergeant with Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, Marine Aircraft Group 17, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing at Camp Foster, Okinawa Japan. He also deployed forward with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) in 2003.

From 2005 to 2008, Staff Sergeant Miller served as Field Mess SNCOIC, II Marine Headquarters Group. II Marine Expeditionary Force. He deployed forward where he served as Logistics Chief with Military Transition Team 2nd Brigade, 7th Iraqi Division supporting Iraqi Security Forces in Al-Anbar Province, Iraq from 2006 to 2007.

He was selected to Warrant Officer in 2007 and attended the Warrant Officer Basic Course in 2008. Upon graduation from Senior’s Food Service Course, he reported to 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing at Cherry Point, NC.

From 2008 to 2011, he served as the G-4 Food Service and Operations Officer. He deployed forward in 2008 in support of Operations IRAQI and ENDURING FREEDOM in 2011. He graduated from the Maritime Pre-Positioning Force Staff Planning Course and Tactical Logistics Operations Course in 2010.

From 2011 to 2013, he served as G-4 Food Service Officer with 2nd Marine Logistics Group at Camp Lejeune, NC. He graduated from the Joint Logistics Operations Course in 2012.

From 2013 to 2015, Captain Miller served as the Installations Food Service Officer at MCAS Iwakuni, Japan. He graduated from the Expeditionary Warfare School (DEP) as a Distinguished Graduate in 2014.

From 2015 to 2017, Major Miller served as the Installations Food Service Officer at Marine Air Ground Task Force – Training Command, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twenty-nine Palms, CA. He graduated from the Life-Cycle Executive Leadership Program at Chapel Hill, NC in 2016.

From 2017 to 2020, he was assigned to Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa at Stuttgart, Germany and served as G-4 Food Service Officer, Logistics Planner, and Sustainment Plans OIC. He graduated from Excelsior College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Liberal Arts in 2019.

From 2020 to 2022, Lieutenant Colonel Miller served as the G-4 Food Service Officer and Logistics Planner at Marine Corps Forces Pacific.

He currently serves as the Marine Corps Installations Pacific G-4 Food Service Officer.

Lieutenant Colonel Miller is married to the former Jessica Torres and they have one daughter, Alessandra Giselle Miller (7).

Lieutenant Colonel Miller’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (Gold Star in lieu of third award), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Gold Star in lieu of fourth award), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Gold Star in lieu of second award) and the Good Conduct Medal (Bronze Star in lieu of third award).
