Sgt. Kyle O. Kerr, a combat instructor with Advanced Infantry Training Battalion, School of Infantry West, Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, Calif., breaks a stick to show one of the ways a tracker can identify whether someone has recently been through the area during the combat hunter course Jan. 28. The ends of a stick will show dirt from sitting over time, while a fresh break is much lighter and clean. ::r::::n::
