From left to right, Micheal Gieseck, the deputy assistant chief of staff with Marine Corps Community Services, Devin Farmer, the library director for Camp Foster with Marine Corps Community Services, and U.S. Marine Corps Col. Jeffrey L. Hammond, the camp commander of Camps Foster and Lester and commanding officer of Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations Pacific, cut a ribbon during the grand reopening ceremony for the library on Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 2, 2021. The ceremony consisted of a ribbon cutting, tour of the renovations, and a performance by the III Marine Expeditionary Force Band. The library showcased renovations with a variety of new education sections and a reorganization of the children and youth area to adhere to a broader range of interests for service members and their families.
