As a member of the principal staff, the AC/S G-4 has a dual role and is directly responsible to the Commanding General for the logistics support of Marine Corps Base Butler (MCBB) and Marine Corps Installations Pacific (MCIPAC). The G-4 advises and assists the Commanding General on all logistics-related aspects of local and regional exercises and operations as well as the formulation and promulgation of logistical support related policies and procedures. G-4 is comprised of four branches: Garrison Mobile Equipment, Distribution Management Office, Base Food Services, and Base Supply. The G-4 also provides oversight and support of Maintenance Management, Ammunition Management, Inter-service support agreements, Plans and Operations Support and other logistics support and services as may be needed to facilitate the mission readiness of MCBB Regional Fuels Coordination, and MCIPAC organic and tenant organizations.

MCIPAC-MCBB Base Food Service (BFS) provides operating forces and tenant commands with the highest quality of continuous and effective garrison messing support in order to meet operating force requirements. The MCIPAC-MCBB Base Food Service Program will accomplish this by implementing policy, developing regional strategies and plans, prioritizing resources, and providing guidance to all subordinates MCIPAC-MCBB dining facility operations across the Pacific region through efficient resource management. Additionally, MCIPAC-MCBB Food Service Program is prepared to facilitate, advocate, coordinate, and provide oversight of resources during crisis or contingency.
