Sergeant Major Nicholas J. Pascuzzi

Sergeant Major Nicholas J. Pascuzzi was born and raised in Hibbing, MN.  He enlisted into the United States Marine Corps in August, 1997. Sergeant Major Pascuzzi attended boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California and graduated from First Recruit Training Battalion in November of 1997.  He was then transferred to Camp Pendleton, California where he was assigned to the School of Infantry (SOI) and subsequently trained as a 0331, Machine Gunner.

 

In February 1998, upon completion of SOI, Private First Class (PFC) Pascuzzi was assigned to Marine Corps Security Force Training Battalion (MCSFTB), Chesapeake, Virginia.  Upon completion of MCSFTB he had earned the Military Occupational Specialty of Basic Marine Security Guard 8152, and in April 1998, he was assigned to Second Fleet Anti-terrorism Security Team (II FAST) Company, Marine Corps Security Forces Battalion, Yorktown Naval Weapon Station, Yorktown, Virginia, where he deployed in support of Operation Southern Watch in August 1999 as a Team Leader. 

In April 2000, Lance Corporal Pascuzzi was assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he deployed aboard the U.S.S. Nassau with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit / Special Operations Capable in November 2000, was promoted to the rank of Corporal and served as a Machine Gun Squad Leader with Bravo Company. In September 2001, he was assigned to Weapons Training Battalion, Quantico, Virginia. Sergeant Pascuzzi served as Range Coach and Primary Marksmanship Instructor (PMI), and attended High Risk Personnel (HRP) Instructor course and Small Arms Weapons Instructor Course (SAWIC).   In June, 2004 Sergeant Pascuzzi was Temporary Assigned Duty (TAD) to 1st Marine Regiment, Camp Pendleton, California and from July 2004 through November 2004, he deployed with 1st Marine Regiment In Support Of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).  He served as a Vehicle commander for Security Platoon, Headquarters, Company as well as the Vehicle Commander to the Regimental Commander of Regiment Combat Team 1 (RCT-1).

In November 2005, Sergeant Pascuzzi transferred to 1st Battalion 9th Marines, 6th Marine Regiment, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He deployed in March of 2006 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) as a Mobile Assault Platoon Squad Leader. Upon his return, he was assigned to 6th Marine Regiment as the Security Platoon Sergeant and later assumed duties as the EOD Security NCOIC for Regiment Combat Team 6 (RCT-6) while deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) from January through October 2007.

In August 2009, Staff Sergeant Pascuzzi attended Marine Security Guard School, Marine Corps Embassy Security Group, Quantico, Virginia and subsequently assigned as Detachment Commander, Marine Security Guard Detachment Cape Town, South Africa From November 2009 through January 2011.   In January of 2011 he was hand selected to activate Marine Security Guard Detachment Dubai, United Arab Emirates as the Detachment Commander.  On 4 February 2011 he assumed command of MSG Detachment Dubai, United Arab Emirates and activated the first Marine Security Guard Detachment in Dubai on July 17th, 2011.  Gunnery Sergeant Pascuzzi was awarded the Detachment Commander of the Year Award at the 2012 Commandant of the Marine Corps Combined Awards Ceremony in Quantico, Virginia. 

Gunnery Sergeant Pascuzzi was transferred to 2nd Battalion 8th Marines, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in September 2012.  He was assigned as the CAAT Platoon Sergeant for Weapons Company from September 2012 through February 2014, and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) from April 2013 through October 2013. 

First Sergeant Pascuzzi assumed duties as the First Sergeant, Fox Company/Intelligence Operations Company, 2d Intelligence Battalion, II MEF Headquarters Group (MHG) on 14 February 2014 until 1 July 2016.  Conducted 3 MHG FX and MEFX 2016 as the Intelligence Operations Cell SEL.

First Sergeant Pascuzzi assumed duties as the Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant for Det, 1 Transportation Services Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 25, Combat Logistics Regiment 45 on 1 July 2016. In May of 2017 First Sergeant  Pascuzzi attended Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy (AFSNCOA). Promoted to Sergeant Major 8 July 2019.

Sergeant Major Pascuzzi assumed duties as the Battalion Sergeant Major for 3rd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division on 9 July 2019, and deactivated the unit on 9 October 2019.

Sergeant Major Pascuzzi assumed duties as the Squadron Sergeant Major for Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 272 from 17 January 2020 until 18 June 2021.

Sergeant Major Pascuzzi served as the 26th Squadron Sergeant Major for Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS) 26 , Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 26 from 26 June 2021 to 26 August 2022.

Sergeant Major Pascuzzi is currently assigned as the Installation Sergeant Major for Camp Mujuk, Republic of South Korea, Marine Corps Installation Pacific (MCIPAC)  as of 4 October 2022.

Sergeant Major Pascuzzi's personal awards include the Purple Heart Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4th Award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Combat Distinguishing Device, Combat Action Ribbon (2nd Award),  Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal,  and various other Unit, Service, and Campaign awards.
