Apply for a SOFA Cancellation Letter
STEP ONE: Complete 5820.1 (do not sign the form) and save the form as "Last Name_5820.1"
STEP TWO: Gather all required supporting documents, attach to an e-mail, and name them as follows:
・Resignation Letter or equivalent document: Last Name_Resignation
・Passport: Last Name_Passport
For Active Duty
STEP THREE: E-mail all documents from Steps One and Two to the ILAW Section in one e-mail.
STEP FOUR: Receive via e-mail a SOFA Cancellation Letter, digitally signed by the ILAW Officer, within one to three business days.
