U.S. Marine Corps Col. For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began, students with Okinawa International University were able to visit Camp Kinser and participate in a guided tour of the base. The tour included a question and answer interactive class between the students and Marines, a visit to the Battle of Okinawa Historical Display, lunch at the Camp Kinser Mess Hall, and was followed by a walkthrough of Marines’ living quarters. Hunter Barber, a combat graphics specialist with Communication Strategy and Operations, Combat Logistics Regiment 37, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, conducts kettlebell exercises on Camp Kinser, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 17, 2021. Barber is a White Mountain Apache tribal member who grew up on the Fort Apache reservation in Arizona. Retired U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Teodoro Harris, supervisor of supply and safety technician with Communication Strategy and Operations, Marine Corps Installations Pacific, poses for an environmental portrait on Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 8, 2021. In 1999, Harris joined the Marine Corps as an aviation ordnance technician. Throughout his career, retiring in 2015 as the supply chief with 3rd Maintenance Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, he was stationed multiple times in Okinawa, once in Texas, and deployed to Afghanistan twice with 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines.
